Challenging social constructs of what it means to be a man, OCD
Mindfulness as a guide to mental recovery
I'm a husband and father of two from Queensland's Sunshine Coast. I am passionate about men’s mental health and inspiring men to get help before its too late. Having lived with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, anxiety and burnout over the past 30 years, I understand what it’s like to be unwell and to hide the pain under a mask of masculinity. I hid my mental illness for 20 years, and 2022 marks 10 years since I first got help for mental illness. These days, I use my pain with purpose – to fuel my passion for supporting men with their mental health through my therapy business, Mindful Men.
